This charming 17th century coaching inn, abundant in characteristic period details, offers the best in friendly, professional service.
Whatever your requirements: a weekend break, a business trip or that very special occasion, The Gaskell Arms Hotel offers warm hospitality in a pleasant setting for visiting Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Church Stretton. The hotel is a family owned and managed free house open throughout the year with the addition of a welcoming log fire to greet you in winter. There is an à la carte menu in the oak beamed restaurant. You can also enjoy an interesting selection of hot and cold food in the cosy lounge bar. In warmer times, head to the secluded walled garden where you may take your refreshments and enjoy the peaceful setting of this ancient coaching inn.

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

All children are welcome. All children under 5 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding. All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots. All children from 5 to 14 years are charged GBP 25.00 per night and person for extra beds. Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 1. Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 2.
The hotel does not employ night porters; the hotel therefore request that guests return before midnight.
Please note the following prices for the coach house suite:
4 adults: GBP 130.
3 adults: GBP 100.
As you see on the booking page it prices up only for 2 adults. The hotel will charge for the extra cost on arrival.
Each of these rooms has a different view. Some of them face the high street of the medieval town of Much Wenlock with its historic buildings and quaint shops; others face the landscaped walled garden and patio at the rear of the hotel.
This is a very spacious suite and comfortably sleeps 2 people on the ground floor in twin beds. The suite has a view of the garden.
This is a large, newly refurbished room ideal for a family as it has a double bed and twin beds. The view from this room is of the high street of the medieval Town of Much Wenlock with all its historical buildings and delightful shops.
This suite has one bedroom with king-size bed and an adjoining room with twin beds. The suite has a garden view. Maximum of 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. If booking for more than 2 adults please look at hotel policy for pricing.
The Gaskell Mews provide luxurious accommodation. They have large galleried bedrooms upstairs, and large comfortable sofa bed. They can accommodate 2 adults or, 2 adults and 2 children. The Gaskell Mews has a view of the garden.
By Car:
- Take junction 10a off the M6 on to the M54.
- Take junction 4 off the M54.
- Follow signs for Ironbridge and then Much Wenlock.
- The Gaskell Arms Hotel is on the A458 in the town.
