With a convenient location, within 1.5 miles (2.5 km) of Cambridge’s historic city centre and the train station, this family-managed private hotel boasts an authentic Italian restaurant and free parking.
Well situated in the south of Cambridge, this 3-star hotel is a convenient base for the business traveller or tourist. The good location and close proximity to the city’s ring road means the hotel has good access to all of the region’s major roads, including the A14 and M11. The train station is just one mile (1.6 km) away and there is ample free car parking, protected by 24-hour CCTV cameras. There are good business facilities for up to 50 delegates and an à la carte restaurant offering authentic Italian food.
Whether you are visiting Cambridge on business or exploring the city and the surrounding region for leisure, the hotel’s friendly and informal atmosphere makes it a great choice for a relaxing base.
Well-maintained with a high standard of cleanliness throughout, the hotel has an à la carte Italian restaurant (closed on Sundays) and snacks available 24 hours a day. The restaurant also has a full wedding service for up to 150 guests and there is a bridal room with a double jacuzzi and sauna. Some rooms have disabled access.

The conference room boasts an unusual set up. Slightly different from the normal 4 walls, the conference room is airy and ornate, with arches down the centre. The room is fully air conditioned with the latest Dakin air conditioning units, which can be controlled via a remote control to ensure your conference will be as comfortable as possible. The conference room can accommodate 20 delegates in a boardroom-style layout or up to 50 delegates in a theatre-style layout.

The Sorrento Hotel has 30 well-appointed rooms, including single, double, twin, deluxe and family rooms. All of the rooms feature all the modern comforts and facilities that you would expect to find in a 3-star hotel. Every room has an electronic door card entry locking system for your extra peace of mind and easy access.
Each room has been maintained to an excellent standard, in terms of décor, facilities and cleanliness.

Each of the family rooms has one standard double bed and one standard single bed. It may be possible to accommodate another bed in a family room on request. The hotel also has a family unit that can accommodate up to 6 people if available.
The hotel’s restaurant offers authentic Italian cuisine and prides itself on using only the finest quality produce and ingredients fresh from Italy. Dishes also feature a wide range of organic herbs and vegetables from the restaurant’s own allotment, as organic produce is extremely important, and essential in some dishes.
The restaurant is popular with local people, as well as with hotel guests. Some of the dishes are legendary within the local community, including the Grigliata di Pesce Misto, an assortment of fresh exotic seafood, handpicked by the restaurant’s chefs.
The full à la carte menu is available from 18:30 until 21:30 and the restaurant is closed on Sundays.
The restaurant has a relaxed and informal atmosphere, with an authentic Mediterranean feel, thanks to the earthy colours, the marble floor and the charming brick archways. The restaurant is fully air conditioned with the latest Dakin air conditioning system.
After you have enjoyed a delicious Italian meal, you can relax in the bar area and enjoy a wide selection of digestifs or an espresso. Alternatively, you could sample one of the house cocktails. Limoncello has proved to be a popular choice to start or finish the evening.
Light snacks are available from room service from 21:00 to 07:00.
By Air:
The hotel is approximately 22 miles (35 km) from London Stansted Airport. Taxis are readily available from just outside the airport or alternatively there is a regular train service from the airport to Cambridge train station.
By Train:
The hotel is approximately one mile (1.6 km) from Cambridge train station. Taxis are readily available from just outside the station.
By Bus/Coach:
The nearest coach/bus station is Parkside, which is 1.5 miles (2.5 km) from the hotel.
By Car (from the M11):
- Exit the M11 at junction 11 and follow the signs towards Cambridge city centre, passing through the village of Trumpington.
- At the set of traffic lights signposted for Addenbrookes Hospital, turn right onto Long Road.
- At the next main junction, turn left onto Hills Road.
- Just before the Hills Road railway bridge, turn right into Cherry Hinton road.
- We are on the right hand side just before the Rock public house, on the corner of Blinco Grove and Cherry Hinton Road.
- There are 3 palm trees in front of the hotel, with the car park situated at the rear.
