The Bear Hotel is situated in an historic town, just a few minutes drive from Portsmouth and Chichester.
As the hotel is only a 2 minute walk from the train station access to Southampton and Hayling Island is extremely easy. Additionally there is a direct train link to London Waterloo station that takes only one hour and 15 minutes. Being adjacent to the M27 and close to the M3 also makes driving to Winchester and other delightful Hampshire cities very convenient, and the beaches on the south coast are just a few minutes away.
Other local glorious Hampshire sites include Southampton West Quay Shopping Complex, Gunwharf, Historic Portsmouth Docks, Marwell Zoo, HMS Warrior, the Cross Channel Ferry Ports, and of course the beautiful Isle of Wight and New Forest.
The Bear Hotel has 42 well-appointed bedrooms, all of which are en suite. All bedrooms are non-smoking
The cosy bar and lounge, with open fires, both offer superb fresh bar food allowing two great places to relax.
The non-smoking hotel restaurant is noted in the area for a fantastic choice of freshly prepared English and Continental cuisine.
The 2 conference suites can hold up to 120 people. The hotel can accommodate many business, meeting and conference requests, with modern facilities for your professional needs.
The hotel also prides itself on its excellent celebration evenings. Whether a wedding, milestone birthday celebration, retirement party, engagement or christening, the hotel can cater from a light finger buffet to a formal 4-course sit down dinner with full entertainment.

Very traditional a la carte restaurant. Our team take great time and pride in producing all of our dishes with local fresh produce. We also have a bar menu, which is loaded with good pub grub.
The hotel is located in the centre of Havant, situated between Portsmouth and Chichester.
By Car:
- Leave the A27 at the Havant/Hayling Island turn off.
- Turn left at the roundabout (Park Road South).
- At the 2nd set of traffic lights, turn right.
- When you come to the mini roundabout, turn left.
- Take the first turning on your right (Prince George's Street) and follow the road around.
- The hotel’s car park is opposite the end of this road.
