Nestling in a valley on the banks of the River Leven, which flows from the southern end of Lake Windermere, just over a mile away. The Whitewater Hotel can meet the many and varied needs of the discerning guest, whether for leisure or on business.
This tastefully converted old mill offers you every modern comfort, superb hospitality and all the facilities expected of a hotel of its class. The restful lounge provides a haven for you to relax and read the morning papers, or plan your day over coffee.
The 'pub' atmosphere of our own bar offers a place for lunch or an early evening meal, to watch the wildlife, and the Haverthwaite Steam Trains from the Riverside Terrace. After you have explored the area, treat yourself to a Lakeland dining experience. The menu reflects the wealth of fine produce that this wonderful country has to offer. The Wine List has been arranged not by country of origin but by grape variety, giving you the opportunity to compare 'old world' with 'new world' wines.
Your stay includes membership of Cascades, our own health and fitness club. Enjoy a swim in the ozone purified pool, or unwind in the whirlpool, sauna, steam room or solariums. The more energetic may prefer the championship squash courts, or in the grounds you can enjoy the all-weather tennis courts, a putting course and driving net. To explore locally, mountain bikes are available for hire.
On the first floor, we are justifiably proud of the purpose built exercise studio and spacious new air conditioned gymnasium, containing the latest resistance and cross training cardiovascular exercise facilities. Our friendly, qualified instructors offer a full fitness assessment and inspired by the ever-changing river views, we will help you create your own personalised and balanced training programme.

It is hard to believe that the beautiful Lakeland Village can be found a mere 20 minutes drive from the M6 motorway. Take junction 36 and follow the A590 to Barrow. Just through Newby Bridge, there is a stretch of dual carriageway, which ends with a sharp bend to the left. A few hundred yards along the straight that follows, the Whitewater Hotel and Lakeland Village is the turning on the right.
