A note from Sweep. Hello, my name is Sweep I am a Boarder Terrier, my friend Tanta the cat and myself live here. We understand that some people are allergic to us or might not like us, that's OK. We are very friendly and would love to meet any humans who wish to come and visit.
Arundel House previously The Market Cross Hotel is a privately owned Regency building in the Somerset village of Cheddar, at the foot of the Mendip Hills. The area is famous for strawberries, cheese and the wonderful caves, which are found in the mighty Cheddar Gorge. Evening meals are available, please book 24 hours in advance as as we cook from fresh to order. If you require more information please do not hesitate to contact us.

The hotel's bedrooms, all centrally heated, have colour television, telephone and tea/coffee making facilities, and non-smoking rooms.
If the extra people are under the age of 18, please could you put the ages in "Guest Comments", this would be appreciated thank you.
These rooms are standard and have a sink unit within the rooms but the other facilities are elsewhere. There would be no more than four persons using the shared facilities at any one time.
A maximum of four persons share the bath room facilities.
The room contains a double bed and a set of bunk beds. Sorry, we do not allow anyone under the age of 6 to sleep in the top bunk. If there are more than 2 persons in a family room an extra £10 per person will be added. Please advise the ages of the children when making the reservation.
This room is not suitable for a cot. There is a view overlooking the Market Cross.

Breakfast is included in the price of the room.
24 hours notice required for 3-course evening meals in our small restaurant, as we can then cater to likes and dislikes and dietary requirements.
There is also a snacks menu that has light snacks and some more substantial snacks that are available until 22:00.
We also have a small bar in the lounge.
By Car:
From the M5:
- Leave the M5 at junction 22 (Burnham-on-Sea).
- Follow the A38 north for 11.3 km/ 7 miles.
- Turn right to Ceddar.
- We are on the A371 right in the centre of Cheddar village opposite the Market Cross.
From the airport:
We are 24.1 km/ 15 miles (20 minutes) from Bristol Airport.
- Turn right out of the airport on to the A38 until you reach the A371.
There are taxis at the airport and we can arrange taxis back.
By Train:
The train station is in Weston-Super-Mare. The bus 126 brings you to our front door. Ask the driver for the Market Cross.
