Este pequeño hotel familiar se encuentra a 8 km al este de la ciudad de Durham, por la B1283 en Haswell Plough.
John y Dorcas Milner han sido los propietarios del hotel Gables durante los últimos 23 años y llevan 38 años viviendo en el pueblo de Haswell Plough. El Gables cuenta con una gran reputación por sus excelentes platos ingleses. Ha sido recomendado por la guía AA y Les Routiers. El restaurante es pequeño, aunque peculiar y acogedor.

The Gables is on the B1283 road approximately 5 miles east of Durham city, one of the world's most famous and historic cities. The cathedral and castle date back to the 9th century and are very beautiful.
