The hotel’s Oak Room restaurant has received 2 AA Rosettes for the outstanding preparation of its food and the good quality of the ingredients it uses. The restaurant offers traditional food in a contemporary setting with a relaxed atmosphere and good service.
The hotel’s Tudor Bar is great for a more informal meal and offers a more casual menu. The bar offers the hotel’s own Rose and Crown real ale and offers a relaxed atmosphere, with a roaring log fire in the cold winter.
Both of the hotel’s dining areas are situated in the older part of the hotel and boast beautiful original features, such as ancient wood beams.
Da Londra: prendete lo svincolo 28 dalla M25 per la A12 (e). Prendete quindi l'uscita centrale di Colchester per la A133. Proseguite dritto attraverso le due rotonde successive, che conducono su Cowdray Avenue. Alla doppia rotonda, svoltate a destra alla prima rotonda e proseguite dritto alla seconda rotonda. Da Ipswich: dalla A12 prendete l'uscita per Colchester North sulla A1232; seguite Ipswich road per circa 3,2 - 4,8 km, sino a raggiungere una doppia rotonda. Proseguite dritto attraverso entrambe le rotonde, seguendo Ipswich road. L'entrata dell'hotel si trova dopo una centinaia di metri sulla sinistra.
In treno: si impiegano soli 45 minuti con un intercity dalla stazione di Liverpool Street di Londra. Colchester è ben servita da due stazioni ferroviarie locali: Colchester Town (St. Botolphs) and Colchester North.
In aereo: Aeroporto Internazionale di Stansted, all'uscita della A12, a circa 64 km di distanza dall'hotel.
